A Celebration of Marriage

Updated: Oct 31, 2025

This year I have a wedding to celebrate on the farm! My eldest daughter is getting married, I am rather excited about it as you can imagine!

To commemorate the occasion I have painted a set of three tables in Delft style. The tradition of incorporating weddings in painted designs has a long history, with the practice evolving over time. The custom of commemorating a wedding with a date inscribed on a ceramic object—whether it's a plate, vase, or plaque—has both symbolic and practical significance. These items serve as lasting mementos of a special occasion and, in many cases, become family heirlooms that are passed down through generations.

This trio of tables is deeply personal to my family, places, animals and dates of real significance.

Have you a wedding to celebrate this year? Why not have your own piece painted?!

Take a look at the online shop and discover the magic of painted furniture and art at Tea & Roses, where every piece tells a story and adds a touch of whimsy to your world.
