DEBORAH MEREDITH

My name is Deborah Meredith and I am a professional artist, furniture painter and interior designer based in rural Shropshire. I created Tea & Roses in 2010!
The Story So Far....
I come from a background in Art & Design and trained in Conservation & Restoration (BA Hons) where I had training in historic decorative crafts and experience in museum work.
After moving to Shropshire, having three children and setting up our family farm, I returned to my love of vintage design and set up a vintage ceramics hire business and Tea & Roses came to life.
Working from the farm soon led to having a small High Street shop the pretty market town of Bridgnorth. This quickly led on to taking on a large shop in the centre of the High Street complete with a coffee shop.
At Tea & Roses with the help of a team of lovely staff, we created a welcoming, buzzing social community hub serving wonderful homemade cakes and the best coffee!
I painted everything in the shop and changed our style and themes on an a seasonal basis. Our window displays were a much anticipated event, especially at Christmas!
Such happy days!
After over 10 years on the High Street I felt it was time to return home, back to the farm where I paint in my studio and host guests in the beautiful 17th century barn and farmhouse... and so the story continues...

Welcome Home....
What I love...
I have a real passion for patterned finishes and take much of my inspiration from historical designs, whether that be wallpapers, fabrics or ceramics.
I source and re love old furniture, celebrating their age and giving them a new lease of life!
Each design I paint and create is unique and joyful.
Media work...
My shop Tea & Roses featured on the BBC Television show, Money for Nothing on several occasions showcasing designers work.
I have also worked with Annie Sloan Interiors on decorative interior wall finishes for an advertising photoshoot which were featured in 'Period Living' and 'Country life' magazines.
I have also featured in Annie Sloan's 'Painters Challenge' on Instagram.

My Studio
Welcome to my studio barn. Here I collect inspirational pieces, paint, make and design.
I always have more than one project on the go!
My painting style is painterly, often bold in its use of colour and often references a historical start point.
