Tea & Roses began life in rural Shropshire by Deborah Meredith. Deborah and her husband and their young family moved to a farm and set about building the farming business. The farm is based around a beautiful black and white timber framed house set in the beautiful Corvedale, with rolling hills and unspoilt countryside. With cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and other farmyard friends, life was quite full and fun!

Deborah’s young family began to grow up and with a few hours of ‘free time’ she began to want to rekindle her creative background. Deborah had a love of vintage ceramics and a background in Art Design and Conservation and Restoration and with this passion she began a small vintage china hire business for special events such as weddings. This then led on to setting up small stalls at craft fairs and then the beginnings of a small shop.

With a passion for painting and art Deborah also picked up her paint brushes again and ‘discovered’ Chalk Paint TM a decorative paint by Annie Sloan. She was amazed to find such a versatile paint that could create different textures, finishes and layers that she knew could only be created over many hours using traditional techniques. The pigments in the Chalk Paint TM mixed wonderfully to create a huge palette of colours. Deborah began experimenting and painting furniture influenced heavily by traditional finishes and hand painted detail.

Much to Deborah’s joy she was accepted as an Annie Sloan TM stockist and her small shop has flourished and grown into the business that is now located at 29 High Street in the pretty market town of Bridgnorth in Shropshire.

Deborah is pleased to have a wonderful team of staff led by Sarah and together they create the unique shop that is Tea & Roses. We have a real sense of fun in everything we do.
